On the 20th June, a couple of the crew entered a mixed boat into the St Ives Regatta Cambridgeshire. Racing in the category above, the crew (put together at the last minute) won their division.
After an interesting semi-final where the opposition crew clashed oars ten strokes in, the crew took the lead and finished the 550m sprint a length and a half ahead of the opposition.
Into the final, where the crew took on Huntingdon RC. The crew were fast off the start and then holding the pace throughout the race finishing three lengths in front. We would like to thank Oundle Town RC for lending us the “Banana boat” to race in, as well as providing such a great coxswain. We’ll definitely be back next year to maintain our title!
