It’s almost upon us – The Blue Varsity Boat Race! The annual afternoon of racing between The University of Gloucestershire & The University of Worcester.

This year’s format will be six races covering a distance of ~900m on the stretch of the river severn outside Worcester Rowing Club, opposite the arena. Races will start from 2:00pm, and will be going underneath the bridges (a perfect spot to spectate and get those photos and videos!).

The boats racing this year will be:

Mens and Womens Double (2x)
Mens, Womens & Mixed Coxless Quad (4x-)
Mens Pair (2-)

This is a free event, but if you’re feeling a bit peckish from the mornings varsity events, there will be a BBQ serving food at the boathouse, thanks to Worcester University Rowing Club. So come down, grab some food, and be ready for an entertaining afternoon of racing!
