The #GlosGoesGreen campaign makes clubs and societies more sustainably aware in 2019 and our rowing club has encouraged its members to get involved.
The campaign is put in place to inspire young people at the University of Gloucestershire to be more aware of their global footprint, something that many students may not think much about. With the estimated amount of plastic used every year by the UK population being 295 billion, UOG Rowing have seen the importance of encouraging members to join in and do their bit for the environment.
Our team have showed evidence through Instagram posts of eating home cooked meals for a week, using reusable water bottles and shopping bags, buying digital train tickets to save paper and sharing lifts to use less petrol.
Members of the team have also attended a public litter pick, run by Plastic Free Cheltenham.
Have a look at our social media accounts to keep track of our efforts and maybe even see us take that first place spot on the leader board for being the most sustainable sports team.
